Study of Molecular Interactions in Stearates and Triethylene Glycol through Ultrasonic Measurements

چکیده
Speed of sound have been measured as a function of composition for binary mixtures of stearates (zinc stearate and calcium stearate) and triethylene glycol were studied along with density and viscosity values, a comprehensive understanding of the molecular interactions in the binary mixture is thus only possible from the measurements of various physico – chemical properties and treating the excess functions derived there from [1]. Inspite of this interesting consideration, the concrete studies on the excess functions of zinc stearate – triethylene glycol and calcium stearate – triethylene glycol mixtures are studied. The results have been discussed in terms of molecular interactions. The aim of this work was also to find out if there are any structural peculiarities in solutions of stearate and glycol.

Ultrasonic Study of Molecular Association of Ternary Mixtures in Polyvinyl Alcohol, Stearates and Ethylene Glycol
Ultrasonic velocity measurements are reported for aqueous solutions of polyvinyl alcohol with different stearates such as zinc stearate and calcium stearate with plasticizer ethylene glycol at 303 K. The data obtained as a function of concentration indicate the magnitude of the contributions due to the relaxation of the backbone and of the side – chain acetyl group. A variety of the different t...
متن کاملExperimental investigation on the thermal conductivity of Triethylene Glycol-Water-CuO nanofluids as a desiccant for dehydration process
Liquid desiccants such as glycols are used in dehydration process, among which Triethylene Glycol (TEG) is considered as a common choice. The addition of nanoparticles to TEG as the base fluid is one of the prevalent method to improve thermal properties of TEG. In this study, an experimental investigation was performed on thermal conductivity of TEG-based nanofluids with 20 and 40 nm diameter c...
متن کاملTriethylene Glycol Up-Regulates Virulence-Associated Genes and Proteins in Streptococcus mutans
Triethylene glycol dimethacrylate (TEGDMA) is a diluent monomer used pervasively in dental composite resins. Through hydrolytic degradation of the composites in the oral cavity it yields a hydrophilic biodegradation product, triethylene glycol (TEG), which has been shown to promote the growth of Streptococcus mutans, a dominant cariogenic bacterium. Previously it was shown that TEG up-regulated...

Human glycol ether poisonings are sparsely reported in the medical literature. We describe a healthy 22-month-old boy who accidentally drank up to 330 mL of brake fluid containing a 75% bleed of various glycol ethers (5%–50% polyethylene glycol monomethyl ether, 15%– 40% triethylene glycol monoethyl ether, 1%–30% triethylene glycol monomethyl ether, 1%–25% triethylene glycol monobutyl ether, 1%...
متن کاملMolecular Interaction Studies of Ammonium Dihydrogen Phosphate in the Aqueous Solutions of Mono, Di and Triprotic Acids – An Ultrasonic Study
Aqueous solutions of mono, di, and triprotic acids were prepared with different molar percentages (say 10%, 20% and 30%). ammonium dihydrogen phosphate is gradually introduced in the aqueous solutions at different concentrations varied from 0.1M to 0.6M at 303K. Densities, viscosities, and velocity of sound of aqueous solutions are measured and they are used to evaluate the other parameters lik...
